Karina Nuvo couples classic musical influences with her own heartfelt instincts and authenticity, resulting in an unrivaled sound best described as "Nuvo Soul".

 She writes and sings fluently in both English and Spanish, extending her appeal across cultures.  Her music encompasses all cultures, races and genders - gospel, R&B, disco, and Latin jazz.

Karina has finished her highly anticipated Debut album "NUVOSOUL", in both English and Spanish, which she co-wrote and produced.  It blends all that is true to Karina's style. There's Soul, Jazz , R&B and Latin all mixed in to a truly unique and inspiring Album.

In particular, her record includes a spicy salsa-flavored rendition of Shining Star, Karina's homage to the group that has influenced her the most, Earth, Wind and Fire.

Karina integrates every element of her mind, body and soul into her music, which has produced odes to the homeland she has never seen, Cuba, as well as gospel numbers like "I Will Love You". She exposes her soul while inspiring others to charge on with hope .

DCB: As your first solo CD, the music on NUVOSOUL is  very diverse and clearly demonstrates the broad range of musical talent you possess as a singer and songwriter.  How did you arrive at the final selection for the tunes on the CD?   
KN: I truly do not have a secret method. I just created a group of songs that tell stories and I felt represented me as the artist I am today. I go with my inner voice and then let it go.

DCB: You emerged from the six year hiatus and have both the "Cuba" single and now the "Soul Nuvo" album to your credit. In addition to your own spirit and drive, who are people in the "team of talented people" who helped you attain this success?
KN: Honestly and sadly not many in my immediate circle because I always vowed that if I were to do this 100%, I would have to surround myself with respectable decent entertainment people and that's is quite hard to find.  My music partners and my co- producers of NUVO SOUL are Jon Coco and Johnny Britt.  I also have what I call my little angels , who are people much like yourself who simply take the time and make an effort and support what I am doing because you respect what I am doing It truly amazes me how much can happen by just having someone speaks well of you.. My family and dear friends have been the most amazing base of Love that has kept me from giving up.

DCB: I have listened to your music and I like all the tracks I have heard. If it is played, I think that you will have a very successful CD. What are your hopes regarding this?
KN: Well thank you for that, I hope to really prove that without a cooperate machine behind you and  you have an honest and true album and tireless determination, you can have the same successes. I would like to be recognized for my writing and producing and eventually do that for other artists .I would love longevity because I love what I do.
